Women's Cooperatives of MoroccoArgan oil comes from the nut of the argan tree of southern Morocco. The oil is one of the rarest oils in the world. There are some trees in Israel and Algeria, but Moroccan Berber women are the keepers of the Moroccan argan forests. The argan trees of Morocco are protected under the auspices of UNESCO. The trees are a valuable resource that directly benefit Berber women and their families.  The kernals of the argan tree are gently roasted over a low fire to create a tasty wholesome oil. Raw nuts are pressed for cosmetic quality oil for skin, hair and nails.
